Nigerian Singer Rema Brought “Cozy Style”—And an Epic Chain—To the Louis Vuitton Show

Yesterday in Paris, Pharrell Williams debuted his new spring 2025 men’s collection for Louis Vuitton—and the show brought out a star-studded crowd, including stars like Sabrina Carpenter and Central Cee in the front row. There was one celebrity, however, who marked their very first Vuitton show: That would be Rema, the Nigerian singer and rapper who first burst onto the scene with his earwormy-track “Calm Down.” The star says he was excited to make his front row debut. “It’s a great honor. I like the [brand]’s quality of design and the color palettes,” he says, adding that his favorite part about hitting up fashion week is always the mix-and-match opportunities. “What’s exciting about hitting fashion week is first off meeting people, and then secondly just getting inspired by how people like rock their fits,” Rema says. “Everyone just has a mood, and a sense to come out with style.”
The new Louis Vuitton show certainly had plenty of style to take in. Designer Pharrell put an emphasis on cool, tailored separates ranging from casual-cool shorts to full-on suits. For Rema, he was most drawn to the designs that were in the muted shades. His favorite look? “The first set in all black, and all the black looks,” he says. “All fire. And the white fur coats—tell LV I need that.” Of course, Rema had to bring his own stylish outfit to the occasion as well. His front-row fit included a varsity jacket and Canadian tuxedo (that’s double denim), complete with a seriously epic chain around his neck (an upside-down house on fire). “I loved the simplicity of my look,” Rema says. “I love varsity jackets. It s like a go to—it’s comfy. I feel like LV tapped in with my regular cozy style; when I saw the rack for the fitting, it was very easy to pick fits ’cause it felt like I saw my wardrobe.”
These days, the musician says he’s drawn to fashion that’s all about cool simplicity. “First thing, it has to be black,” he says of his signature wardrobe. “Recently, I’ve been doing a lot of shorts on trousers. I ve been mixing checked shirts with hoodies and leather jackets. I ve been mixing stuff the way I want to.” He notes he’s being trying to experiment more with silhouettes—and is ready to take risks for the summer. “Sometimes when you pop out and try something new, you kind of get a little anxiety,” he says. “But seeing that other people fuck with this, like, ‘Shit—I’m an innovator.’”
Post-Vuitton show, the star snapped a few paparazzi photos in his look, and says he got to chat with some fellow performers. “I met a couple of my colleagues, it was fun having great convos with them and laughing,” he says. “Especially Burna Boy; I properly had a conversation with him. And I had a good conversation with Pharrell, [where] I got the opportunity to express my gratefulness and happy I was to be at the show.” Now that the excitement is over, however, the star says he’s heading back into creative work mode. “Music, music, music—everything that I ve been working on for the past months,” he says of his summer plans. “I’m planning to execute and express all of these ideas and have fun with it. Have fun and enjoy life. And personally, enjoy my money.”
