In Paris, Naomi Campbell and MatchesFashion Feted Steven Klein’s New Book

On Monday night, Steven Klein celebrated the release of his highly anticipated first book, Steven Klein. A dazzling crowd of friends and supporters descended on Le Carmen, the moody Parisian hotspot. Naomi Campbell, ferocious in her leopard print getup, served as hostess to the festivities. 

Among the revelers were Law Roach, unmissable in a hot pink overcoat, and Anna Dello Russo, a dark vision in sheer gauze. Natasha Poly, the icy beauty whom Klein immortalized for Versace, and Coco Rocha, whom he once rendered a metallic dominatrix for Dolce Gabbana, slinked through the darkened rooms. The real star of the festivities was Klein’s young son, who gamely posed for seemingly endless photographs. Despite the late hour and the chaotic atmosphere, the boy seemed right at home. 

Although the party took place on the penultimate night of Fashion Week, the energy soared. Music blared and Champagne flowed. Guests chatted about the shows and gossiped about the previous days.

The book, which chronicles Klein’s 30-year career as a fashion photographer, exclusively pre-launched on MatchesFashion. Born in Rhode Island, Klein moved to New York, where he became known for his provocative campaigns for the likes of Louis Vuitton and Alexander McQueen. His cover stories for W and Interview served as star-making conversation starters.
