The 23 Best Dressed Stars From the Oscars After-Party

Sure, the main Oscars red carpet has the most eyes on it every year—but it’s the Oscars after-party that often has the wildest (and most fun) fashions. This was certainly the case last night at the official Vanity Fair bash, where Hollywood A-listers saved their best statement ensembles for last. Celebrities like Emma Stone, Margot Robbie, Lupita Nyong’o, and more were all ready to celebrate in looks that packed a punch. Whereas the Oscars main carpet is all about glitz and glamour, the after-party is more about taking a risk and experimenting with silhouettes.
Best actress winner Emma Stone, for one, switched gears for the night and changed into a Louis Vuitton asymmetrical sheer number with cascading paillettes. (Fun!) Equally as whimsical was the caped floral gown that Pamela Anderson donned, proving that a bold print certainly has its place at the Oscars. Colman Domingo got that memo, too: The actor rebuked a traditional suit or tuxedo in favor of a surreal printed coat by Balmain.
There were loads of winning vintage moments at the after-party, too. Stars like Jennifer Lawrence wore a white lace Givenchy gown from the fall 1996 collection; Margot Robbie slipped into a gold Mugler mini dress from spring 1996. These designs, plucked from the archives, felt just as fresh and modern in 2024 as they did back then. (Though, we would be scared to dance the night away in such precious gems.)
