The sad truth of the matter is that, no matter how good it was, summer must come to an end. Luckily for us, it is replaced with delightfully distracting things like Fashion Week, falling leaves, and the sudden need to update our wardrobe by adding more seasonally appropriate pieces. That said, in the early part of fall, there are some warm-weather favorites you can keep in rotation, provided you know how to style them for a few months more. Take a lesson from Hanneli Mustaparta. Yes, she wore those short (short) shorts all of June through August, but that doesn’t mean they can’t carry over to September. She creates a very orderly balance by adding a graphic knit and a utility ankle boot. So here is this week’s shopping challenge: Take the one piece you couldn’t live without this summer, and then find a way to give it a brand-new life once the temperature drops.
