Mothers! The Swans Red Carpet Did Not Disappoint

Last night in New York City, Ryan Murphy’s Feud: Capote vs. The Swans made its grand world premiere, with the whole cast showing out for the affair. Given that the show centers around Manhattan’s social elite—with stars like Calista Flockhart, Chloē Sevigny, and Demi Moore playing real-life style icons such as Ann Woodward and Lee Radziwill—that the event’s red carpet was naturally all about glamour. Cast members Molly Ringwald, Diane Lane, and Naomi Watts also joined the glitzy fashion spectacle. Call it a mother-off!
The actors duly adhered to the night s style memo, which was to show up in sophisticated black-and-white. The elegant designs were embellished with sequins, bows, and trains, trains, trains. Moore, for one, nailed thematic dressing with a Balmain gown that featured a carved swan bustier. It’s like a 2024 version of that infamous Marjan Pejoski swan dress that Bjork wore to the 2001 Oscars—only and glitzy nod to the title of the show.
Other highlights from the step and repeat? Sevigny, who donned a white, strapless Christopher John Rogers gown punctuated with an oversized bow at the waist (chic), and Watts in a black lace Givenchy Couture number, accessorized with a bejeweled swan minaudière bag (A+). Flockhart, meanwhile, chose a Zuhair Murad long-sleeved gown with a chevron skirt, while Ringwald opted for custom Rodarte with mounds of tulle. The fashion M.O. was maximalist, but refined. Quite simply, we’re obsessed. If the premiere is any indication of the looks we’re about to get throughout the series, it’s already our new favorite show.
