The Webster Hosted a Champagne-Filled Opening for Its All-Pink L.A. Outpost

As the pulse of the city begins to quicken with the Oscars bowing this Sunday, there was another star turn last night as the Webster celebrated its newest left coast outpost. Set at the base of the iconic Beverly Center—the famed indoor mall which has struggled with the evolution of retail and endless construction delays—the cavernous 11,000 square foot space felt at capacity last night, as guests including owner Laure Hériard Dubreuil, co-host Dakota Fanning, and Demi Moore with her three daughters wandered about the luxury multi-brand retailer.

“It’s just so cool, I love a store that creates space for a lot of different designers, that you can see all together. And it doesn’t look too shabby either,” Fanning mused. “It’s cool and conceptual and I really like that,” she continued of the store’s elaborate architectural details, noting that as an L.A. native, the Beverly Center location evoked a sense of nostalgia and excitement.

Costume designer and stylist Arianne Phillips, up for an Oscar this weekend for her work on Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, took time to celebrate the opening of the Webster’s seventh U.S. location—all poured concrete, terrazzo floors, and a blush shade that touches every surface. Jessica Hart, fresh off her turn at the M Missoni L.A. presentation earlier this week, joined the likes of Margherita Missoni and Busy Philipps in discovering the store for the first time. There was also a show of support from some of the city’s design talent, among them Justin Kern of Co, Nick Fouquet, and Heidi Merrick.

Milling about the racks containing over 100 brands, including everything from Chloé to Bottega to Vetements, guests experienced the space exactly as Dubreuil intended—not just as a community gathering place but as a destination where customers can shop, stay, and discover. And that they did, enjoying a live set by Jacques Lesure and Kelsey Lu, along with a curated setlist by DJ Kitty Cash.
