Tiffany Co. Celebrates Its Blue Book Collection and Priceless Archive In Miami
This past week, Tiffany Co. touched down at a private residence in the balmy city of Miami to show off their BOTANICA: Blue Book presentation 2022. In attendance were the likes of Pharrell Williams, Adria Arjona, Zoey Deutch, and Meadow Walker. Fun fact: Williams arrived in custom Tiffany Co. sunglasses with its rims frosted in 25 carats worth of diamonds.
Though, the real draw to this shiny gathering was not necessarily the megawatt celebrity guests, but rather, the megawatt gems. For the uninitiated, the Blue Book is the Tiffany Co. catalog, a revolutionary idea that was introduced only seven years after the jewelry house’s creation in 1837. Showcased among the Blue Book’s pages are the most extravagant of creations that fuse technology, innovation, and the storied craftsmanship of Tiffany Co. The result? All things stunningly beautiful and very much carat-packed. And while Blue Book is very much steeped in tradition, there are some modern additions: This year, Gal Gadot stars as the face of the Blue Book campaign and wears a Dandelion necklace with a transferable platinum pendant of over 12 carats.
To show off the jewelry, which needed an equally stunning setting, Tiffany Co. transformed the private residence into something akin to a museum of most fantastical diamonds and precious stones. (The company went as far as to install their own historical light fixtures throughout the home, too). The names of Tiffany’s closest collaborators like the boundary-breakers of bijoux Jean Schlumberger and Elsa Peretti were whispered from room to room. (The Schlumberger room had its own pyramidal installation, an ode to the designer’s display showcases from 1961). Some of the most stunning pieces hailed from the dandelion collection. While the creations were beautiful, the background behind their technical aspects is what added a storied layered, all of which was elegantly explained by Tiffany Co.’s Chief Gemologist Vicky Reynolds. In one instance, there was a bracelet that took the circular form of a dandelion that was deconstructed into half-moon shapes and encircled the wrist—and with the most dedicated attention to detail, the piece is crafted for a cascading effect.
