Vanity Fair Hosted the Best-Dressed at a Star-Studded Soirée in New York

“What stood out to me is less a trend and more an attitude, which is that people feel very liberated to express themselves and enjoy themselves through fashion,” said Vanity Fair editor in chief Radhika Jones of the cultural icons who found a place on the magazine’s 2019 best-dressed list. Resplendent in a pale pink evening gown by Roksanda, Jones and Vanity Fair hosted the best-dressed of film, TV, art, and fashion for a dazzling cocktail party at L’Avenue at Saks.

Anna Wintour and Bee Carrozzini joined Jones, Jordan Roth, Jeremy O. Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Natalia Dyer, and Nicholas Braun to fête the occasion. As flutes of Champagne and spiced cocktails in highball glasses made their way through the crowd of partygoers, Jones spoke to Vogue about the diverse, rising generation of talent that’s pushing the envelope in culture and fashion. “The presence of this kind of youthfulness in the culture, I think it’s so incredibly energizing,” she said. “It’s fun to put together a list like ours and mix those forces to see the individuality of 20-somethings in our culture right now.”

Roth and Chopra Jonas were both on this year’s list, along with Zoë Kravitz, Rami Malek, Keanu Reeves, Elle Fanning, and Lena Waithe—just a few of the standouts who were named. “It’s incredibly gratifying,” Jones said of being in a position to recognize such a range of talent. “I feel very privileged to be able to do it.” Partygoers of all ages seemed to take inspiration from that energizing youthfulness Jones spoke of: Before the night saw its end, more than a few people ended up on the dance floor.
