We spend New Year’s in the Catskills with our dear friends. The plan is for the kids to take snowboarding lessons. I truly hate the cold, so if I leave the lodge you can bet I’ll be layered up. I spied this Patagonia men’s pullover on a friend who works at Goop—who knew it gets cold enough for down in L.A.? I’ll pair it with comfy Adidas by SMcC boots, flannel-lined jeans from L.L.Bean, and a trusty Steven Alan cashmere hat.
Patagonia down snap-T pullover, $199, patagonia.com; Steven Alan cashmere beanie, $98, stevenalan.com; L.L.Bean 1912 jeans, classic-fit straight-leg lines, $69, llbean.com; Adidas by Stella McCartney Nangator 3 apres-ski boots, $155, matchesfashion.com

I’m planning to go home to London for the holidays, and packing lots of things from my favorite British designers, naturally, including a mesh Marques ‘ Almieda sweater (great for layering under party dresses on a midwinter’s night in London), baggy unisex denim by Alex Mullins, and my favorite new shirt from Bruta, which comes with these swirly Matisse-style motifs. I’m a big fan of sensible English footwear, so my Clarks Wallabees will definitely get thrown in the bag, too.
Marques ‘ Almeida mesh top, $178, farfetch.com; Bruta Guachos shirt, $74, bruta.eu; Clarks Wallabee boots, $140, clarksusa.com; Alex Mullins trousers with print, $341, km20.ru

I went on my holiday vacation early but it still felt festive! My husband and I went to Monrovia, Liberia, to visit our friend’s soccer academy there and I packed for very hot, very humid days and nights. My staples were T-shirts from Uniform, a Liberian-owned company producing chic basics in fair-trade-certified African factories, which felt appropriate for the trip, especially because for every item you buy, a school uniform is donated to a student in Liberia. I love the organic cotton tee and reversible bomber. I also packed my Dôen Prem dress for a reception at the U.S. Embassy and Biarritz jumpsuit for running around during the day. I only packed one purse so a woven Colombian mochila from Shop Latitude worked with everything. And my shashi tassel earrings liven up any outfit.
Doen Biarritz jumpsuit, $99, shopdoen.com; Uniform reversible bomber jacket, $88, shopuniform.com; Shashi Lilu earrings in Harvest, $55, maison-de-mode.com; Doen Prem dress, $178, shopdoen.com; Uniform organic cotton tee, $28, shopuniform.com; Shop Latitude Brown Multi wool stripe Kutia Mochila bag from Colombia, $275
