Delvaux and Vogue100 Hosted a Paris Fashion Week Soireé Dedicated to Savoir Faire
Last night, Vogue100 celebrated Paris Fashion Week with Delvaux, the world’s oldest fine leather goods house. In an elegant hôtel particulier in the 7th Arrondissement, CEO Jean-Marc Loubier hosted a dazzling group for a decadent dinner.
As Champagne and experimental cocktails circulated, guests admired Delvaux’s artisans at work as they hand-assembled the coveted luxury bags. The engrossing process illustrated the craftsmanship that renders Delvaux second to none. Throughout the many salons, iconic models and fresh interpretations of the bags were displayed. Jessica Joffe, the brand’s communications director, stunned in scarlet as she moved through the crowd of creatives, philanthropists, and tastemakers. Attendees included Galvan designer Anna-Christin Haas, stylist Taylor Angino, and entrepreneur Jordan Rhodes.
Delvaux boasts a history rich in both tradition and innovation. Charles Delvaux established the company in 1829, shortly before the Belgian Revolution that severed the region from the Kingdom of the Netherlands. After the dramatic conflict that spanned nearly a year, Delvaux prospered at his Brussels shop, which became the official supplier of the Royal Court of Belgium. In 1908, Delvaux invented the first modern handbag with its filing of the first-ever leather handbag patent. The 20th century was marked by change and new beginnings. In 2021, Richemont acquired the brand.
Hidden behind closed doors, a staggering table awaited in a handsome room overlooking Hotel des Invalides. The dinner was designed by Jean Michel Loriers, Royal Warrant Holder of the Court of Belgium. Flickering candles and loose flowers dazzled the eye. The feast—naturally inspired by the flavors of Belgium— began with Artichokes and truffles, followed by Coucou de Malines, and finished with Grand Cru Chocolate and Praline Emulsion.
Laughter, gossip, and connection animated the affair. The evening effortlessly captured the elegance and intimacy of the brand.
