At Casa Cruz, Gigi Hadid Celebrated Guest in Residence’s Spring Collection with Vogue100
On one of the warmest spring evenings so far, Vogue100 gathered friends and fashion folk for a night dedicated to Guest in Residence’s latest debut, Beach House. Founder and creative director Gigi Hadid reimagined the effortlessness of her native coastal California into a dreamy collection of delicate knit sets and cashmere staples for summer. The celebration took place at none other than Casa Cruz, an uptown townhouse turned ultimate hot spot by the namesake visionary, Juan Santa Cruz.
For one night only, the fifth floor was transformed into a mini-world of Guest in Residence. Bountiful florals in bold hues of orange, pink, and green greeted guests upon arrival. Of course, the crowd was even more glamorous than the setting. Hadid’s Next In Fashion co-host, Tan France came to support his friend, as did chef and fashion darling Antoni Porowski. Celebrity stylist Elizabeth Sulcer, seductive in a hooded Saint Laurent runway look, chatted with Hassan Pierre, environmental activist and founder of Maison De Mode, and Vogue s Mark Guiducci.
Before the first course was served, Hadid stood to say a few kind words. “Tonight is such a full circle moment for me,” Hadid began. “Since the beginning of my career as a model, Vogue has continued to champion me and my work. Now, on the other side of fashion, it means the world to me to see so many special people in the room and to feel your support.”
Set in a gorgeous candlelit glow, the decadent dinner was served family-style. Highlights included the hamachi crudo, tender blackened chicken, and the house’s signature lemon orecchiette pasta. Bottles of wine swayed between the cozy tables as the tequila shots, which turned the dinner into a party. Soon, guests began to trickle out in the mild Manhattan air or downstairs for a nightcap in the swanky lounge.
As we start to see the early days of summer on the horizon, one might think to swap out their cashmere sweaters for swimsuits. But Hadid swears by keeping a Guest in Residence cardigan within reach, especially for a brisk Malibu morning or a chilly boat ride in Saint Tropez. Luckily, Hadid made sure that all her guests were prepared for the next time they might need an extra layer—everyone in attendance was gifted a monogrammed sweater. It was the perfect way to ensure guests remain a Guest in Residence, no matter where they go.
