Vogue100 and LuisaViaRoma Hosted an Elegant Afternoon with Airelles at the Château de Versailles

When September turns to October, Parisian designers pull an exclusive group of editors, buyers, and fashion lovers to the City of Light. Over the course of 10 days, the capital city is filled with energetic runway shows, immersive presentations, and, of course, all-out after-parties. In the mix of all the PFW madness, Vogue100 and LuisaViaRoma took a trip back in time to discover the Airelles Château de Versailles Le Grand Contrôle.

The sprawling estate turned five-stary luxury hotel is home to some of the first trends dating back to the early 17th century. Co-host for the afternoon, LuisaViaRoma’s editor-in-chief Kate Davidson Hudson welcomed guests with an exclusive fashion presentation. With the final spring 2023 collection debuts in sight, Hudson curated a lineup of the season’s most talked-about pieces to showcase for the stylish crowd.

The juxtaposition of fashion’s future set amongst the historical ambiance was magical. British Vogue’s Julia Hobbs, joined Hudson in breaking down each breathtaking look. Some of the highlights include a pink shift dress with matching sky-high pumps by Pier Paolo Piccioli, a Stella McCartney satin mini-dress paired with a Raf Simmons duvet coat, and a sleek Roberto Cavalli black blazer.

Alongside the latest looks, traditional French sweet treats like macaroons and mini-cakes decorated the opulent room. And for the soundtrack, an opera singer and harpist set the tone for the sophisticated afternoon affair.

As the sun finally broke between the clouds, guests wandered up The Hundred Steps staircase to find the Gardens of Versailles glistening in golden hour. Next, the group, dressed to the nines, headed through the Palace gates into the Hall of Mirrors. Taking in the exquisite interiors while learning about the lives of kings and queens past felt even more exceptional in the intimate setting.

Before guests headed back to the busy city, everyone enjoyed a farewell Champagne toast to one unforgettable day in Versailles.
