Vogue100 and Palomo Toasted to Miami Art Basel with a Celebratory Luncheon

Vogue100 and Palomo marked the start of Miami Art Basel with an intimate luncheon at The Shelborne By Proper, where founder and creative director Alejandro Gómez Palomo joined Karla Martínez de Salas, head of editorial content for Vogue Mexico and Latin America, to transform the afternoon into a stylish prelude to the week’s events.
The Shelborne terrace became a vivid expression of Palomo’s aesthetic, celebrated for its meticulous craftsmanship and sculptural approach to modern luxury. Martínez de Salas wore a draped leather jacket from the Holiday Resort 2026 Cocoon collection, while Rosella López Norzi, Palomo’s CEO, and Carmen Kang dazzled in coordinated red prints from the same season—López Norzi in the full matching set and Kang in the skirt paired with a sleek black blouse.
Mannequins framed the long table, showcasing standout pieces, including a yellow ruffled dress that Martínez de Salas had recently featured in a Vogue Mexico editorial—its sculptural lines and movement inviting guests to get in close to study the craftsmanship that defines Palomo.
A run of soft florals anchored the center of the table, and as lunch was served, conversation turned to everything from Basel installations to the creative pulse moving through the city. Martínez de Salas reflected on her friendship with Palomo’s creative director: “Connections happen, you meet someone, and all of a sudden things start to come together.”
The afternoon unfolded with an easy rhythm of creativity and camaraderie. At one point, Palomo offered the offhand remark, “I want to put you in beautiful clothes and keep inspiring you,” a line that quietly captured the spirit of the gathering and set a warm tone for the dynamic days of Art Basel ahead.
