A la access Concorde.

Ah, Concorde?

Concorde, oui.

A la Concorde.

Oui.

I think that fashion and beauty, it s one of those things,

you know, if you re in it, it s, you re in it.

It s not, like, you have your work and you have your life.

You know, your work is sort of your life.

All right, we re gonna have to hustle a little bit

when we get out of this cab.

The biggest stress about backstage reporting

is that you need to get there

within a certain window of time or there s no access.

It doesn t matter who you are.

I mean, I don t put myself in those positions.

It s like, if it s something that I need to cover,

I m not late.

We re not late now, we re just a little late.

I kind of fell into beauty, to be perfectly honest.

I ve always been really into vintage.

In college I worked at a buy, sell, trade store.

And then I started sewing

and I moved to New York to go to Parsons,

but kinda lost my nerve

and started interning at magazines instead.

Merci. Merci.

But I actually studies English Literature in college,

so I figured I could combine my two favorite things,

writing and fashion into one semi-lucrative career.

[laughs]

Hello, beautiful.

How are you?

You were giving it a major look.

Some quel colore for fall. I m trying.

I m trying a little bit today, Pat, I m putting it on.

You re so working. Pulling it out.

Gimme a hug.

I find a lot of beauty writing to be pretty bland.

And I think that s a shame because I do think there s way

to insert personality into it.

Rause?

Rause, groomed.

Obviously putting them back after last night.

[laughing]

I think it s important to have fun with it

because it s make-up, it s fun.

It s not supposed to be this super serious

pursuit.

And it s interesting, it s so creative.

So I try to hone in on certain elements

that I think are really cool

and that I think other people would think

are really cool as well.

Is it just one braid that s wrapping around?

No, it s two.

One starts here, joins in and wraps around.

Pretty.

This season, the pacing has been really weird.

Like, yesterday, I had an 8:30 call time at Stella.

I took the Metro to Ungaro.

And then I came back to my room and did a little writing

and then I went out again to go to Chloe.

And then I had an interview for an upcoming magazine.

And then I went to YSL and I popped by Vanessa Bruno.

And then I came back, did some writing,

and then I had a dinner.

And then all of a sudden it s midnight

and you re still working.

We are going to Alexander McQueen.

We are in the 19th, a little bit further

than I ve had to go all week.

We made it.

It s fun, it s exciting, it s inspirational,

it s a very creative way to spend your time and work.

Are you treating limbs, too?

Yep.

Those are beautiful.

Yeah.

You re put in a lot of positions

that otherwise you might never experience, you know?

I just came from the Chanel show this morning,

and that s one of those things

where you sit there in the Grand Palais

and you re just like, I m one of a handful of people

in the world who will ever get to experience

something like this.

And it s really something to behold.

There you go.

There you go.

Great, thanks so much, Guido.

Bye.

It s at moments like that,

that you feel really positively about your job.
