Platinum Standard: Makeup Artist Peter Philips at Chanel Spring 2013

The venue is huge, so we need to do something bolder,

a bit more heavy handed to be seen.

Shine was a reference for skin and makeup.

We started looking into skin textures

and also glossy shines or metallic shines.

And we decided to do a platinum metallic on the eyes.

Karl s inspiration was actually the new floor

in Karl s new studio which is an amazing metallic parquet.

I start makeup actually with the mascara first

so it can dry top and bottom.

I didn t want to use false lashes

so that s why we really layer it.

I frame the eye with a pitch black eyeliner

on top and bottom and a platinum metallic around the eye

all the way up to the eyebrow.

Metallic on the eye it s a new one,

it s [speaks in foreign language].

The skin is I use [speaks in foreign language]

and tone powder.

I just to keep the shine of the foundation.

Just a matte T-zone and then on the lips

I used Casile which is a soft pink

[speaks in foreign language].

And topped it with [speaks in forign language].

A lip gloss called Pleasant which I go over the lips

so they are sure to the see the shine

on the ridge of the lip.

It s a very simple French manicure, we use Ballerina.

This a new one called [speaks in foreign language].

It s a really beautiful white, full cover

and we do a little tip of French.
