February Fashion Week in New York is always a meteorological wild card. One day, it might be 50 degrees and sunny, the next could see a torrential downpour. This season was no different. During the last seven days, there has been a snowstorm, lots of dirty sidewalk slush, some forceful wind, and even a bit of hail. No matter what the forecast, though, the street style set never failed to deliver.
Showgoers trudged around the city wearing happy pastel colors like mint green and pale pink. Some bundled up in lavender coats while others paired their light-wash denim with baby blue tops. It was as if these editors, buyers, and influencers made it a priority to carry their own sunshine around (see the fantastic candy-color accessories). It’s the only way, sartorially speaking, to combat the symptoms of seasonal affective disorder and is easier to pull off than you may think.
