The world’s most stylish know better, and last week they kept their big-night style personal, iconoclastic, and cool. White emerged as the key (non) color with stars as diverse as Rihanna, Mackenzie Davis, and Margot Robbie opting for head-to-toe ivory. Davis’s choice of a lace and fringe column by Luke and Lucie Meier’s Spring 2020 collection for Jil Sander was especially inspired: a thoroughly modern gown for a futuristic movie meet and greet in Mexico City. Talk about elevation!

Back in New York, Victoria Beckham wore a series of stellar long-line looks from her Fall 2019 collection to promote her new beauty line. For a visit to The Today Show, she wore cashmere separates in lavender and crimson, new versions of the classic items she favors, with super trendy peep-toe boots. The bold palette was at once rule-smashing and eye-popping.
