For example, while doing New York press for The Operative, Diane Kruger threw on slouchy suiting from Prabal Gurung’s Resort 2020 collection and some beige trainers. Ice-blue with sculpted shoulders and a cinched waist Kruger’s suit could have been all business; the addition of an “ugly” shoe made things all the more interesting.

Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid continued to make the case for bike shorts, elevating the Eighties laughingstock to athleisure essential. On paper the combination of abbreviated leggings, Birkenstocks worn with thick black socks, and double denim shouldn’t work, but she pulled it off with panache.

Adwoa Aboah brought out Molly Goddard’s psychedelic sunflowers at LOVE’s after party, while Logan Browning carried Coach’s Kaffe Fassett prints into the real world at the brand’s Art of Signature pop-up. At Italy’s Ischia Global Film Music Fest, Zoey Deutch combined multiple trends in pop art flowers and—of course!—a pair of Prada sandals.
