At the Palais d’Iéna Miuccia Prada sent out a parade of strange femmes for Miu Miu’s Spring 2016 collection.
1. Imagine a skate park wrapped in gold and silver foil and you have something akin to the arches and ramps set up in the Palais d’Iéna for Miu Miu’s Spring 2016 show.
2. As always, Mrs. Prada’s cast of muses was perched front row. This season’s all-star lineup included Miu Miu faces Léa Seydoux and Stacy Martin.
3. Model Lea Holzfuss opened the show in a gray check coat, plaid trousers, and teetering Kiss platform boots.
4. Those boots, which came in a plethora of bright, clashing colors, prints, and glitters, have hit potential written all over them.
5. Models who walked sans boots wore mismatched ribbons tied around their ankles with pointed-toe pumps or satin ballet flats.
6. Leave it to Miuccia Prada to turn the trend toward lingerie dressing on its head. Sheer nighties were worn over proper ready-to-wear for a perverse take on layering.
7. Lest there be any question in your mind that hair accessories are back, the headbands models wore with low, behind-the-ear pigtails should settle it for you.
8. Cats, nude women, and birds have all appeared as eye-catching prints at Miu Miu before, but candlesticks might be a first. (Those looking for a more modern light might try out the lighter-print ensemble that followed.)
9. Mrs. Prada loves a stole, and the acid-hued ones shown with many looks have street style appeal, though it’s the feathered necklaces that might really take off, considering the trend’s endorsement at Valentino yesterday and Louis Vuitton earlier this morning.
10. Pat McGrath crafted a moody beauty look with darkened eyebrows and dark scarlet pouts.
