Who runs the world? Donatella Versace’s girls, as proved by the army of miniskirt-clad and animal print–wearing women she sent out for Spring 2016. Get all the details of the celebrity-filled affair here.
1. She might have a thing for hip-hop stars, but Donatella Versace’s soundtrack this season was a dance beat with a spoken-word track that kicked off with the proclamation: “This song is dedicated to women everywhere regardless of color, religion, sexuality, or what sex they were born with.”
2. Versace muses Naomi Campbell and Heidi Klum sat front row alongside Gigi Hadid paramour Joe Jonas.
3. Leggy models weren’t the only ones to show up to support Versace. Designers Riccardo Tisci, Christopher Kane, and Fausto Puglisi all sat front row as well.
4. The show opened with Raquel Zimmermann strutting down the catwalk in a belted army green blazer and sky-high sandals.
5. Versace’s major model cast carried on from Zimmermann to include runway vets Caroline Trentini, Joan Smalls, Liya Kebede, Natasha Poly, Behati Prinsloo, Mariacarla Boscono, Jamie Bochert, and Iselin Steiro alongside rising supes Gigi Hadid, Stella Maxwell, Edie Campbell, and Taylor Hill.
6. Even if a flowing mane is the Versace woman’s calling card, the show featured two models with platinum blonde buzz cuts, Ruth Bell and Kris Gottschalk.
7. From the show’s early army palette, outfits progressed into wild animal prints in secondary colors. It’s only a matter of time before an actress sports the green leopard-print minidress worn by Natasha Poly on the red carpet.
8. It’s not a Versace show without a little leg. Caroline Trentini showed it off best in a slashed and slitted black number.
9. Is this the season of the oversize earring? Versace made the case with shoulder-grazing hoops.
10. Donatella took her bow in a black sweater and leopard palazzo pants—and sky-high heels, of course.
