Alo’s always brought a fashion perspective to the world of wellness and athleisure. Its latest venture aims to bridge these worlds even more: a debut collection of six luxury handbags, handcrafted in beautiful leathers and buttery-soft suedes that feel as at home at the gym as they do perched by one’s side at work. Part of its Atelier line, the collection is accompanied by a global fashion campaign, featuring supermodels Amelia Gray, Candice Swanepoel, and Daiane Sodré, and lensed by the iconic fashion photographer Steven Meisel. The creative direction was led by Raúl Martinez, Vogue’s very own global creative director.
True to the brand’s studio-to-street roots, the styles in question are meant to be goes-with-anything designs, ranging from clean and classic duffle shapes, that seamlessly transition from morning gym sessions to in-office meetings, to roomy, sumptuous suede totes with versatility for travel in mind. Designed in Los Angeles and handcrafted in Italy, every detail was carefully considered, from the responsibly-sourced leather fabrications to the subtle finishing touches, such as custom hardware and the Intention Crystal charms, to adorn the bags with a personal touch and imbue them with positive energy.
“The bag collection is designed as an extension of the Alo lifestyle—rooted in purpose, style, and well-being,” writes Abby Gordon, chief officer of design and merchandising at Alo in a press release. “Each bag is handcrafted in Florence, Italy, a region whose history is steeped in artistry and tradition, reflecting the precision and elevated standards at the heart of everything we create. The crystal charms are a defining detail, a way to personalize each bag with intention, making the bags as meaningful as they are functional.”
For now, limited quantities of the handbags are available exclusively in-person at select Alo stores, showcasing the high-end craftsmanship, which deserves to be discovered firsthand through touch and experience. Below, a look into the handbag styles featured in the collection.
