Celebrities have wasted no time stepping out in their best fall outfits, and Anne Hathaway just delivered one of the boldest ones yet. The actor wore a saucy look by Dion Lee, styled by Erin Walsh, while promoting her new film She Came to Me on Good Morning America in New York City today. (The film was granted a SAG-AFTRA waiver, amidst the ongoing strike.) Her ensemble was even complete with a jorset—that would be a jean corset.
Now, corsets have been a celebrity favorite as of late—Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift both wore on-trend dresses at the VMAs last month—so it’s no wonder Hathaway decided to try the trend. While It girls like Bella Hadid have propelled Vivienne Westwood’s styles into the spotlight, Hathaway opted for more of a hybrid version. Her cropped jacket was half black blazer, half denim corset, while the dressy trousers featured a denim waistband. That hint of light-wash made the classic black suit feel fresh.
If you think about it, sporting a mashup is way more comfortable (and less restricting) than rocking a full-on corset style. Complete with Hathaway’s sky-high platforms and movie star shades? It made for an unexpected, yet still totally Hollywood-worthy, fit.
