Back in May, A$AP Rocky told The Run-Through podcast that Rihanna had made a habit of stealing from his closet. And it looks like he’s making good on sharing their sartorial abundances.
“I wanna be a catalyst for daring men. I don’t know who drew the line between femininity — or being feminine — and masculinity. I don’t see any barriers,” he said on the pod. “For me, it’s not fair that my girl could just go in my closet and take anything from it and wear it.”
“She does it to me all the time, man! Sometimes you just see her on an interview or see a paparazzi photo, like, ‘Wait, there goes my Miu Miu f–king jacket! What the f*ck? I was looking for that since 2021! ” he added.
“That goes both ways. She has pieces she don’t know that I actually stole.”
Well, she’ll know now. On August 13, the rapper, designer, and actor got suited and booted for his Highest 2 Lowest premiere in Los Angeles, wearing a navy nylon suit from ERL’s fall 2025 collection, a gray shirt, and polka dot tie also from Eli Russell Linnetz, paired with a pair of Ray Bans (for which he is creative director), silver hoops in both ears, and black patent loafers. Rocky and his stylist Matthew Henson didn’t have to look too far for inspiration though—the suit and tie comes straight from Rihanna’s recent back catalog of fits.
Rihanna recently wore the same ERL suit and dotty tie out to dinner at—where else?—her favorite restaurant, Giorgio Baldi. It was one of her most standout looks from a summer of dining out, alongside her sculptural ‘condom’ Aläia dress and other below-the-bump outfits. Rih styled it up a bit different though, opting for a sheer Savage X Fenty bra underneath.
The nylon utility suit reflects ERL’s pulled-back, monochrome styling, and what Vogue’s José Criales-Unzueta describes as a “very ’90s-but-timeless American sportswear feel.” It makes sense, then, that both Rihanna and A$AP Rocky find a shared sartorial golden thread here: both stars appreciate good fabrics, sleek details, and elevated design. Maternity suiting has also been part of Rihanna’s pregnancy styling lexicon, as well as more floaty, fluid looks by way of archival Issey Miyake, and casual hoodies and denims.
As a family, the Rocky-Rih-Riot-Rza style compendium expands ever so brilliantly. Rihanna took their two sons to the premiere of The Smurfs, dressing them in custom mini versions of Jonathan Anderson’s Dior. Rih was also spotted recently shopping for baby clothes for their third child on the way. Between the three kids and their fashion killa parents, the archive is abundant.
