The East Coast is still in the midst of a heatwave, but that isn’t deterring some stars from stepping out in early fall looks. And given the bone-chilling air-con in most work spaces across New York City, that counterintuitive approach to summer dressing makes perfect sense. After all, the idea of slipping into a sheer maxi dress or thigh-grazing boho tunic hardly seems wise—much less office-appropriate—when the temperature in the boardroom dips below 65 degrees.

The CFDA Award–winning designer opted for a demure, structured ankle-length Céline dress, layering a simple The Row blouse underneath. The summer basket by Dragon is a nice seasonal touch and pulls double-duty as a secondary handbag, a trend first spotted on her in spring. It’s also a nod to the carefree spirit of style icons like Jane Birkin; a cool look, indeed.
