Bella Hadid’s Bodyguard Is the Real Style Star of London Fashion Week

Is it a male supermodel? Is it a dashing new fashion editor? No, it s Bella Hadid s really buff and well-dressed bodyguard. The blue-eyed mystery man—a Jason Statham doppleganger with a dash of Bruce Willis circa Live Free or Die Hard (2005)—made his very own cameo next to Hadid yesterday while out at London Fashion Week. The hulking escort with a Zeus-like jaw sported the standard on-the-job uniform (tight black T-shirt, hamstring-hugging faded blue jeans) but elevated the garb with an Alpha Industries army green bomber jacket and a belt boasting a statement gold Hermès buckle.

This isn t the first time Hadid s bodyguard has stolen a street style moment from the paparazzi-beloved model. Hadid s brawny sidekick sported a similar look, logo belt included, while accompanying Hadid at Heathrow Airport back in July. Despite his stellar take on casual wear, he also knows how to clean up nicely: In April, while guiding Hadid out of a restaurant, he opted for a high street look, wearing a long, tailored plaid green coat, and in March, for a Burberry after-party, he astutely paid attention to the details of his outfit, matching his red socks to the silk lining of his dinner jacket. But he isn t the only chic member of Hadid’s muscle squad. In Paris, she s been known to hire a sleek protector with a sleazy-chic style; one of his standout numbers was a sheeny grey suit worn over a male-cleavage-revealing black button-down.

Could celebrity bodyguards become a new source of designer inspiration? Possibly. Vetements included the profession s cousin— the "bouncer” look—in its stereotype-themed runway lineup for the Fall 2017 collection. Maybe there is something to that polished, pec-skimming, take-no-prisoners look after all—and besides, a man who can keep bad guys at bay and look good while doing it is a man worth keeping around.
