Getting dressed for a night out can be a frustrating endeavor, a high-wire act of dressing to feel comfortable, sexy, and—most importantly—confident.
Searching for an example? Look no further than Bella Hadid, who mixed her Western-tinged style with party staples at the Chateau Marmont last night. The base of her look was perfect for a night out: Hadid wore a ruched raspberry halter top—an instant entrant into the going-out top canon—with a pair of medium wash straight-legged jeans, and classic black pointy-toe heels. She added a touch of ’70s glam to the look with a pair of sepia-tinted sunglasses and oversized hoop earrings. (It is the Chateau, after all!)
Still, the model added her signature cowgirl flair to the going-out look. Hadid has perfected her New-York-by-way-of-Fort-Worth look, ensuring that it remains true to her without feeling costume-y. Case in point: a brown suede bomber jacket, which lent an earthier touch. And, in place of a true Western belt, she opted for a braided black one with an oversized YSL buckle.
Next time you hit a wall when getting dressed for a night out, take a cue from Bella Hadid, and try to incorporate something that feels true to you. You’ll never go wrong with feeling like yourself.
