Vogue’s guide to the best vintage stores in Austin is part of our directory of the very best vintage around the world, curated by editors from all over. Whether you’re traveling and searching for some superb stores to visit on your trip or are curious about your local vintage treasure chests, Vogue’s directory has you covered.
The capital of Texas has become a travel hot spot because of the fantastic food and music scenes. Also on the list? Great vintage shopping. While there are pop-ups happening all over the city every weekend, here’s a more curated list of where to shop and what to expect.
American Drifter
Founded by Kristen Lucio, American Drifter was born out of necessity: She needed something to do with all the excess that came out of her day job working as a movie costumer. It started out as a roving shop (traveling between Miami, Chicago, and New York) before Lucio decided to set her sights on returning to her hometown of Austin. Lovers of hippie, Western, and Harley Davidson styles will want to stop by the little 1940s house.

Charm School Vintage
Charm School Vintage specializes in clothing from three distinct fashion periods (the Victorian era, 1930s, and ’70s). The shop is organized by color—starting in shades of white and pastels at the front of the shop, then growing more saturated and deeper as you work your way toward the dressing rooms. There’s also a large collection of crystals and accessories for sale.
Address: 1111 E 11th St #150, Austin, TX 78702
Feathers Vintage
An Austin institution on the vintage scene, this pink shop has been slinging Levi jeans and Geoffrey Beene dresses on the iconic street of South Congress since 2005. Owner Emily Hoover started her vintage career at New York’s Beacon’s Closet, eventually moving to Austin and bringing the biz with her. From 1940s swimsuits to the iconic lipstick-print silk skirt from Prada that Charlotte York wore on Sex and the City, you can find it all.
Address: 1700 B South Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704
Honey Hill Market
If the clean girl aesthetic and cowgirl style had a baby, it’d be the merchandise at Honey Hill Vintage. Inside, racks of soft pastels and neutrals make up most of the offerings, along with suede fringe jackets, airy white cotton tops, and a wall dedicated to vintage jeans. The shop also hosts a monthly flea market in the parking lot that brings together other similar sellers.
Address: 1800 W Koenig Ln, Austin, TX 78756
Pecos Jane Vintage
Vintage cowgirl meets urban cowgirl inside this two-floor boutique. On the first floor, you’re find a curated collection of designer resale with a Western bent (a Prada cowhide jacket, Moschino red fringe set, and Valentino military coat were all on the floor when we stopped by); the second floor is much more thrifty and eclectic. There’s also a good selection of unusual cowboy boots for those who want to go outside of the classic colors and styles.
Address: 1008 Wheeless St, Austin, TX 78702
Pop Vintage
London’s swinging Carnaby Street has come to the Texas capital. Formerly known as Avengers Vintage (it was just acquired by a new owner), this shop focuses on 1960s and ’70s clothing that look straight out of a Vogue Twiggy shoot. Psychedelic prints, ultra (ultra!!) short minis, and a huge collection of groovy accessories are just some of the surprises you’ll find inside.
