When it comes to the weird and wonderful world of celebrity tattoos, there are those who elevate the phenomenon into an aesthetic addiction (hi RiRi!) and then there s Beyoncé, for whom every dot of well-placed ink sparks more than its fair share of headlines.
The queen of pop, who picked up where Pamela Anderson left off with a now-iconic ring finger tattoo to celebrate her nuptials with Jay-Z, showed off a brand new design on Instagram this week. At first look, the three dots adorning her special finger wrapped around her husband s gold chains might offer an exercise in graphic minimalism but, as fans were quick to note, Bey s new tat most likely refers to her three children: Blue Ivy, 5, and newborn twins Rumi and Sir. Another fan commented that the "Mi Gente" singer s new markings look a lot like the ones on Behati Prinsloo s finger. For the model, they mean "one with the earth." Either way, it s a powerful gesture, placed strategically well, that feels as sweet as her powder pink paint-job, but let there be no mistake: Filed to a sharp point, her nails suggest the kind of woman who wouldn t dream of missing a manicure come hell or high water--or date night with Jay-Z.
