If you’re hearing about Katy Skelton for the first time, take note and get ready to say you knew her when. This up-and-coming Brooklyn-based designer launched her eponymous collection just two years ago, and is already making strides to become a full-on lifestyle brand. What started as six designs in 2013 has since expanded into a 20-piece range that includes not only furniture, but throw blankets, tabletop accessories, and vintage rugs, too. And new introductions—a marble mirror, throw pillows, upholstered furniture, and acrylic-topped concrete canisters—make their debut this month.

Skelton’s made-in-America designs, which she appropriately titles “Modern + Nostalgic,” feel contemporary yet rooted in heritage with a subtle, mid-century modern–leaning aesthetic. “I set out to make pieces that are not only beautiful and affordable, but made responsibly in America. A lot of companies are able to do two of those things, but I’m dedicated to all three,” says Skelton, who got her master s degree in furniture design from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

We’re not the only ones who have our eyes on the new designer. Earlier this month, film director Nancy Meyers, whose iconic sets have garnered a cult following, gave Skelton her big-screen debut when her Wythe media cabinet was included in The Intern.

Shop the collection on her site now, and look out for fabrics-by-the-yard and lighting to come this spring.
