10 Things to Know About Burberry’s Fall 2016 Show

Christopher Bailey presented his Fall 2016 collection for Burberry at London Fashion Week today, drawing the fashion set to an elaborate house decked out as an atelier for the show. Inside, guests found makers at work and walls done up as mood boards—all the better to show off Bailey’s rich collection, which, it just so happens, is available for purchase now.   1. Burberry transformed a home in London into a “Makers’ Studio” where artisans demonstrated the craft behind Burberry’s must-have Fall pieces. The space also included luscious interior design and a sculpture garden. Consider the bar raised.

  1. A slew of Burberry muses and fans turned out for the show, including Cara Delevingne, Edie Campbell, Alexa Chung, and actor Nicholas Hoult.

  1. According to show notes, the collection is inspired by a reissue of Virginia Woolf s novel Orlando, which tells the tale of a poet who lives for centuries, turning form a man to a woman in the process. The novel was published in 1928 and turned into a film starring Tilda Swinton in the ’90s.

  1. The brand introduced a new bag style featuring a chain strap that pops nicely with the collection s vibrant colors and moody hues. Look for it on the arms of Brit girls for the remainder of fashion month and beyond.

  1. A louche spirit also permeated the collection, with several pajama shirts peppered throughout the show. Fingers crossed a leading man is bold enough to sport this layered shirting look and pale pink blazer on the red carpet.
