But flash back a handful of years, and the British actress—who turns 24 today—had a flourishing modeling career, dominating catwalks from New York to Paris. After making her debut for Burberry in 2011, she went on to open several shows for Chanel, play muse to Hedi Slimane at Saint Laurent, and dance her way down Stella McCartney’s runways.
In fact, it’s fellow Brit McCartney who best sums up Delevingne’s allure. “The thing about Cara is that she’s more than just a model—she stands for something in her generation’s eyes,” the designer told Vogue in 2015.
