As Cara Delevingne, Lily-Rose Depp, and more of Karl Lagerfeld’s bright young things took a twirl through the Ritz Paris for today s Chanel s Métiers d Art show, a surprise runway beauty look began to quietly make waves on social media—not the silken blooms and lace nets pinned into model s lengths by hairstylist Sam McKnight, but rather the white statement liner softly winking from their lids.

Backstage, makeup artist Tom Pecheux drew from a chalk white powder disc—stamped with double C’s, tucked into a quilted leather case—and painted the shadow cleanly across the eye to craft a simple yet ethereal stare to suit the Paris Cosmopolite theme. Paired with matte velvet skin and a petal pink lip on the likes of Soo Joo Park and Ellie Bamber, it provided an elegant alternative to the heavy black wing more often worn at the house that evoked long winters at the Ritz. What a lovely way to kick off the season, in Paris and all points beyond.
