Auguri agli sposi, Charli XCX and George Daniel! This weekend, the couple enjoyed their second wedding ceremony in the small village of Scopello, Sicily.
For the occasion, Charli opted for a sheer, floaty dress by Danielle Frankel. The designer shared with Vogue that the dress is a bias-cut, ivory silk chiffon slip gown with delicate spaghetti straps, and an elongated train. A transparent chiffon fabric overlays a structured, contouring internal bustier, while layers of bias-cut chiffon ribbons drape around the bodice and cascade down the center back. The finishing touch? Hand embroidered organza micro petals and dripping baroque pearls that elegantly trickle down the train. Charli also wore the brand’s white silk stiletto Kennedy pumps, and a set of rectangular silver earrings. Her simple bouquet was made up of eucalyptus, baby blue, and gypsophila.
Daniel wore a griege suit sans tie, with a cream shirt and black Oxford shoes. It was one of two custom suits made for Daniel by Carter Young, designed in collaboration with Daniel’s stylist Patricia Villirillo. The ceremony suit is made of Japanese heavy twist twill wool, with a double breasted jacket and double pleated trouser. The musician, label boss, and producer has called upon Carter Young for previous occasions, including The 1975’s Glastonbury 2025 set. The New York-born and now London-based brand, founded and designed by Carter Altman, has found fans from Paul Mescal to Cillian Murphy and Kit Connor for his vintage workwear and American midwest-inspired designs that evolve heritage design aesthetics.
The wedding was reportedly attended by the couple’s close friends and relatives, including Troye Sivan, Amelia Dimoldenberg, Devon Lee Carlson, Shygirl, Matty Healy, and Gabbriette.
The look marked another departure from Charli XCX’s well-established Brat fashion formula. For her London town hall wedding back in July, the singer walked down the aisle in what was a surprisingly classic dress, Vivienne Westwood’s Nova Cora mini. She added a simple veil and white Jimmy Choo Amita heels. The Vivienne Westwood dress echoed the looks of other celebrity brides, including Demi Lovato, Barbara Palvin, and Miley Cyrus.
Charli and Daniel have spent the last few days enjoying the long, warm Sicilian days and evenings with their friends before the big day. Sipping copious Aperol spritzes, dancing in opulent Sicilian palaces, and smoking cigarettes, Charli wore outfits including a Paloma Wool mini dress and a vintage floral corset dress.
Her choice of a second wedding dress marks another splashy moment for Frankel, a firm cult favorite bridal designer among the fashion and it-girl sets. The designer is known for using boned corsetry, drop waists, and clever mixing of fabric to create sculptural, avant-garde silhouettes for her brides. The contemporary cool looks have been worn by many a Vogue bride, including Abby Champion at her recent Idaho-set wedding to Patrick Schwarzenegger, as well as Julia Garner, Lucy Williams, and Alex Cooper.
