Clare Waight Keller presented her Fall 2016 collection for Chloétoday during Paris Fashion Week. There were plenty of billowing dresses, shaggy coats, and leather ankle boots—all Chloé girl staples—but there was also a new toughness this season, inspired by Waight Keller’s empowered muse. Read on for the six talking points of the show, and get the full rundown in Nicole Phelps’s upcoming review.
1. Show notes included a quote from Anne-France Dautheville, a female motorcyclist who rode across Europe and the Middle East in the ’70s. Dautheville’s rebel spirit served as the inspiration for the Fall collection.
2. Outerwear is always impressive at Chloé. This season, the show opened with a beige poncho with burgundy piping.
3. Inspired by Dautheville, the collection included a number of leather looks, including this red and black racing jacket and pants ensemble.
4. Many looks were topped off with a short scarf wrapped around models necks.
5. How to choose the most romantic dress on the Chloé runway today? Frederikke Sofie’s multicolored chiffon one is surely a strong contender.
6. The Chloé girl always has beautiful waves. This season they were complemented by kohl-rimmed eyes and a rosy pout.
