Inside Chloë Grace Moretz and Kate Harrison’s Final Wedding Dress Fittings at the Louis Vuitton Atelier in Paris

Actor Chloë Grace Moretz and model and photographer Kate Harrison are married! Moretz, who began her career as a child star and has gone onto star in Carrie and The Miseducation of Cameron Post, and Harrison, who has modeled in campaigns for J. Crew and Topshop, have kept their personal lives as private as possible for most of their relationship. They first began dating in 2018, and formally confirmed their engagement on January 1, 2025. In a New Year’s Day post, the actor’s slideshow featured an image of her and Harrison showing off coordinating diamond rings.

When Moretz knew that she was going to propose to Harrison, she was excited about the fact that they weren’t just going to get to design one engagement ring, but two. “I had worked with Elizabeth Potts at Moon Stone for years, resetting vintage jewelry, into new custom settings, and that’s what I knew I wanted to do with our rings,” Moretz explains. “Both of our diamonds are Victorian diamonds, and we wanted to reset them in a Victorian sense. I was excited to do something like that, that felt like it could become our future family heirloom.”

In the lead-up to their wedding, which was held over the Labor Day weekend, the actor and Louis Vuitton ambassador visit the French fashion house’s atelier in Paris for the final wedding dress fittings, and Vogue was there to capture the experience.

“We are overwhelmed in a good way,” Moretz says while sitting in the hair and makeup chair in the couple’s suite at Le Bristol, just before seeing her completed wedding and after-party dresses for the first time. “This will be our third fitting. We did our first fitting, which was just the toile—which is just the outline and shape—and then we did our secondary fitting, and that was like 98%, and then today will be 100%. Completely finished, including veils.”

“I think that’s the moment that really makes it set in that it’s real,” Harrison adds.

In keeping with tradition, the brides aren’t going to see each other’s looks ahead of the wedding. “We’re doing all of this separately,” Moretz reiterates. “When we got engaged, I knew immediately that I wanted to reach out to Nicolas [Ghesquière] and Louis Vuitton [to] see if he would be interested in making my wedding dress, and got a very overwhelmingly excited response from Nicolas that not only would he be willing to make my wedding dress but he also wanted to include Kate in that—and to make both of wedding dresses and our after-party looks. To include my fiancé and my partner in that, it just speaks very highly to Nicolas’s character, the community that he’s created at LV—it just feels really monumental in a way.”

Once hair and makeup are finished, Moretz and Harrison are joined by the close friends, Kiersey Clemons and Jessica Lucatorto, the latter of whom is also Harrison’s cousin, and the foursome hop into an SUV to head to the Louis Vuitton atelier. “I’m excited to see the shapes that you guys chose,” Clemons says on the short ride over.

“The biggest part of our relationship is our friendship and you really are who you keep around you… it influences you to such a degree,” Moretz professes to Harrison and the couple’s bridesmaids on the ride over to the atelier. “I feel really lucky to have you guys in my life, and I’m sure you feel the same…I love love!”

After ascending the staircase at the atelier, Moretz and Harrison are each taken into separate rooms to view their completed looks, starting with their after-party outfits. “Wow, oh my God—it’s so beautiful!,” Moretz says upon first seeing the look. “The color is just… it looks like ice cream or something. Like a confection! Originally, they talked about the after-party look being blue as well, but then, since the wedding dress is blue, they decided to have a white moment with the after-party look. I love it because you can see my tattoos peeking on the side.”

Moretz’s after-party look—a custom jacket and trousers—was inspired by a 2019 Louis Vuitton runway look. “I remember seeing the runway version, and it had this cowboy hat, and to [now] see it created to my proportions, it’s just so beautiful. And a little bit of ‘Yee-haw, baby!’”

While Moretz takes everything in, her longtime stylist Nell Kalonji calls in via FaceTime to review everything one last time and give her final approval. Once Moretz puts on her cowboy hat, the look is complete. “I feel like I could ride a horse and go run a Fortune 500, all in the same day!” the bride-to-be jokes.

When it comes to the cowboy hat of it all, Moretz gives some context. “A big part of the wedding [is about] sharing things that Kate and I love with everyone that’s going to be there,” she explains. “So there’s fishing, horseback riding, and poker. Kate made a custom poker mat herself, so we’re going to kind of be leaning into it. Our second day is going to be line dancing and everything.”

Harrison’s after-party look? A bodice and trousers with a sheer overlay on top that features thin metallic spaghetti straps and covered buttons running down the front. The sheer overlay opens up in the center to reveal the trousers and can be removed as the night goes on. “I’ve always loved sheer overlays,” Harrison explains. “So when I mentioned that to Nicolas, he was immediately like I’ll do it for your after look, I think it’s stunning. And he blew it away!”

In the other room, Moretz’s wedding dress is exactly as she envisioned it. “I honestly don’t even know if words can put together how I feel,” she says. “I love that it feels very Old Hollywood, and of course the color—the birth of the color [blue] started when I went to the Academy Gala with LV, and I wore this blue leather dress. I remember immediately talking to [my stylist] Nell, and I was like, maybe we should think about doing this [color for my wedding].”

“You look like Cinderella!” Clemons chimes in, just before she starts crying. “You look so pretty!”

“It just feels like me,” Moretz says. “I never really envisioned a wedding dress in my mind growing up, so when we started talking about what that would look like, I knew I would do something non-traditional, and not wear white, and kind of have it feel different, and I think it really does.”

When Ghesquière enters the room to check on the bride, he grabs her hands and whispers: “It’s a dream come true.”

“You and Kate had such a vision,” he continues. “It was very clear, since the first day we sat and talked about the best news. It’s a dream.” The two discuss the blue gloves that Moretz will be accessorizing with and exactly how far up her arms they should go. After agreeing on exactly where they should hit, they add the final piece—Moretz’s blue veil—and she practices her wedding day walk before the room erupts in applause.

Meanwhile, Harrison is busy trying on her own ceremony look. “I always knew I wanted something that highlighted my silhouette and came in at my waist,” she says. “And I’ve always loved this soft sweetheart neckline. When I had that meeting with Nicolas, and I mentioned the idea of embellishment he just lit up. I couldn’t even imagine a pattern or [think of an] idea to even suggest, and he just created this artwork of flowing embroidery.”

The look actually consists of two pieces–an embellished bustier and skirt, featuring another sweetheart neckline and accessorized with a birdcage veil in front and a cathedral length veil in the back.

“The thing I’m the most excited for—other than being married—is that first look moment,” Harrison says. “Having no idea of what we look like in our dresses, it’s going to be so special. This dress just kind of makes you feel ready. This design is perfect. I’m ready!”

Moretz is ready next door as well. “I think what I’m most looking forward to about getting married is just being together,” Moretz says. “We’ve been together for almost seven years and making this promise to each other in a new way, and exchanging these vows. I think it’s important to just stay every day choosing each other. [And,] to have Nicolas and LV behind us—doing two brides dresses, I think it’s important and could be life changing for a lot of people who get to watch this video and be a part of our day a little bit.”
