Chrissy Teigen is on vacation with her family in Bali, Indonesia—and she’s letting her social media followers live vicariously.
On Instagram stories, she has showed off everything from her workouts, to her food, to her reading list, to her multi-tasking sunbathing routine. Like this morning, she and husband John Legend had some avocado toast with a poached egg on top. Later for lunch, they had tuna sambal salad.
Teigen also shared her reading list, which seemed to have a theme: true crime. First was James St. James’s Party Monster, which chronicles a murder in New York City’s hedonistic club world. After she finished that, it was Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood.
The whole thing looked idyllic—but, true to form, the cookbook author gave an honest portrayal of what vacation is like with a toddler and a newborn. One snap showed her sunbathing and breastfeeding her son Miles at the same time, and another showed Luna in a high chair, ketchup on her face. “An exotic Balinese hamburger. . . and french fries,” Teigen joked. Another story showed Teigen trying to take a cute photo with her daughter, only for the two-year-old to look visibly uninterested.
And then there was the insect incident. When a large (very large), mysterious bug landed on her arm, Teigen had some fun with it, even showing it off to her daughter Luna. Turns out, it might have been a tarantula hawk wasp—which would be incredibly poisonous, Twitter pointed out. “Oh my god but he was so nice,” Teigen responded. “Maybe I am tarzana, queen of the bugs.” (Some experts say the creature was more likely a paper wasp.)

Teigen’s only been posting from Indonesia for about two days, so it looks like there will be many more eating, reading, entertaining snaps to come.
