Christopher Kane will present his Fall 2016 collection at London Fashion Week tomorrow, and if there’s one thing you can count on, it’s that the collection will include a variety of unexpected fabrications. Since the Spring 2007 collection that put Kane on the map, the designer has made a habit of turning the ordinary, the strange, and the mundane into the extraordinary. He’s embellished everyday denim, turned vinyl into luxe suiting, and has an ongoing fascination with electrical tape and plastic buckles, all of which he combines with lavish materials like fur, leather, and silk.
