Dakota Johnson arrived in Aspen, Colorado yesterday to join her parents (Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith) for a bit of quality time ahead of a busy season on the red carpet. Breezing through the airport, Johnson wore a pair of 60s-inspired leopard print boots for a mod take on off-duty style. When it comes to fancy footwear, Johnson has long been the reigning queen of Hollywood ingénues, sporting everything from Gucci’s fur-lined slippers to ugly-pretty Birkenstocks, but these animal print boots revealed a new, playful side to the Fifty Shades star.
Johnson often keeps her looks grounded with simplistic styles in simple silhouettes — think anti-statement slip-ons, vintage-inspired chelsea boots, and classic penny loafers. But here the actress used a bold boot to spice up an otherwise low-key look — Gucci’s pearl-trimmed car coat, a nubby knit, faded blue jeans. Adding an extra pop of color was Gucci’s Dionysis hobo slung over Johnson’s shoulder.
