Damson Idris isn’t an F1 driver—but he sure likes to channel one. The actor made an unforgettable entrance at tonight’s 2025 Met Gala, showing up in a full F1 race suit—complete with helmet and race car. For the paparazzi, there was a little confusion: They didn’t know who was underneath the bedazzled helmet until the actor—who also proved to be quite the showman—did a grand unveiling on the red carpet.
His second look—which required the assistance of two ushers, each pulling a sleeve to reveal a more on-theme tailored suit—became his second dramatic entrance of the evening. Revealing a red plaid three-piece suit, he looked not only dapper, but also quite like the All-American Tommy Hilfiger man. (Idris is, of course, British,)
We aren’t sure how the race car got back to the Tommy Hilfiger showroom after dropping off Idris—perhaps it was waiting a few blocks away for the actor to drive into the rainy New York night.
