From “Tell him you’re on the way when you haven’t even winged your liner yet” to “Ask him if he is good with his hands, then when he comes over make him put together that Ikea furniture,” the Twitter-verse kept the burns coming this week when it came to #WasteHisTime2016. Initially created to poke fun at the myriad ways that men waste the precious time of their significant others, there were plenty of users who let the digital world know just how they felt (“get his hopes up and text like ur in a relationship, then stop replying one day for no reason #WasteHisTime2016,” anyone?). Not so funny anymore, right?
Whether or not you’re laughing, keep in mind that it’s a new year and it’s a new you. And sure, maybe you’re still complaining how you wasted first-date outfits and beyond on a doofus who kept you hanging for months, or maybe you’re angry about how you spent hours styling a selfie look for a solely textual relationship—but doesn’t thinking or talking about it waste more time? Instead of dwelling, take charge and dress like it. Gloss your lips, wear a button-down, and get to business. Focus on going out with friends in a bubblegum pink sweater. Wear a pair of leather pants—because after all, you should wear the pants, whether you are in a relationship or not.
