A Vogue Editor’s London Picks for Streetwear, Coffee, and a Haircut

An admitted Anglophile shares his London Rolodex.

To coincide with the launch of the Directory—a super selective guide of where to shop, eat, and prettify oneself in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, London, Milan, and Shanghai—Vogue.com s Style Editor Edward Barsamian details the best London has to offer.

I am a total Anglophile. I moved to the U.K. for university, love tweed, prefer the company of dogs to people, and refuse to update anything until it’s been absolutely destroyed. One particular spring I spent in London with friends was all about shopping. The Céline boutique there captures the same minimalist feel of the stateside boutiques, but knowing Phoebe Philo is based in London somehow makes the pieces all the more special. And a trip to London wouldn’t be complete without a stop—or rather half-day—at Dover Street Market. This emporium is filled with everything a person could want, and the majority of my favorite streetwear items (matte black Nikes, Undercover hats, Palace tops) can all be found at this London staple. Between shopping sprees, I visited Daniel Hersheson and his talented team for a haircut—or rather a side-bang refresh. And, the one thing glued to my hand throughout the day? A latte from Coffee Plant, the perfect pick-me-up.
