Certain things are done in private. Like going to the bathroom. Or say, clipping toenails. Typically, taking selfies also falls into this category, too. (Being seen contorting one s body to find the perfect light is, well, awkward.) But if anyone can manage to defy the odds of having an awkward social-media moment, it s Emily Ratajkowski. Today, the model-actress was spotted outdoors under an awning, holding up her iPhone in outstretched-arm selfie position. She was certainly wearing the right look for portrait mode: A pair of shades (the world needs to know it’s great weather!), a kicky leopard-print Miaou jacket (a pop of print is a no-fail move), a crop top (Ratajkowski is well-known for her abs), a pair of blue track pants (she’s doing athleisure), and a plain white sneakers (EmRata is, after all, the girl next door).
And while catching someone take a selfie can be cringe-worthy, almost like a meta peephole (see: Justin Bieber’s behind-the-scenes selfie extravaganza), Ratajkowski’s out-in-the-open of display of self-love is refreshing. Plus, it’s nice to know that stars are, yes, just like us.
