Julia Louis-Dreyfus, John Oliver, and Emilia Clarke Celebrate HBO’s Emmy Wins

“Are there even any other parties?” was just one of many praises overhead last night at HBO’s annual Emmy after-party at the Pacific Design Center, celebrating the network’s 22 wins this year including last week’s Creative Arts Emmys. The “under the sea” outdoor fete was complete with fountains, bubbles, and topped off the aquatic ambiance with a menu of sea bass, mixed vegetables, and seafood paella. Emmy-winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus greeted friends and costars in her custom Carolina Herrera gown, accessorized with none other than her fifth consecutive Emmy win for her starring role in Veep. In the booths across the dance floor, Amy Schumer laughed with fellow comedian Niecy Nash, while Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke—who stunned in a sculptural yet minimal Atelier Versace dress—exchanged congratulations with winner John Oliver.

After guests celebrated the network’s wins with hours of dancing, they were greeted outside by an endless line of chauffeured Audis and limousines that was made slightly less daunting with passed to-go boxes of berry-banana muffins—these, unfortunately, did not have a loving note from Jimmy Kimmel’s mom, Joan.
