From the labor-intensive hours—or rather, days—dedicated to creating a single element for a couture gown to the barrels of sequins and reams of textiles required to fully realize it, the world of the most exclusive ateliers is as much about numbers as it is about art. So just how many petites mains are needed to meticulously sew sequins on a gown? And just how many flowers are needed to create the backdrop? Here is fall 2014 couture by the numbers.
