It’s no secret that when it comes to fashion weeks, men’s week is the place to be now. As oversized blazers, pleated trousers, and a strong loafer game reign supreme in the womenswear space, it’s no wonder some of the best-dressed women are traipsing the streets between the Prada and Gucci men’s shows. Sure, the usual well-suited suspects of men’s week like GQ editor Sam Hine, Brooklyn Beckham, and even Jonathan Anderson himself top the list of overall best-dressed. But as the fashion crowd migrates from Milan to Paris, we spotted a handful of noteworthy womenswear looks at men’s fashion week, too.
Among the leading looks were a few key winter trends—think shearling jackets, pinstripe blazers, and floor-sweeping wool coats. The crisp, January weather brought out a handful of bundled, layered ’fits, which took shape in the form of Khaite leather jackets and Prada coats, however, signs (or really, pleas) for spring were visible in the white, pointed-toe shoes.
Men’s week often serves a more subtle streetwear color palette of navy, black, greens, and beiges, but this season’s pop of red was certainly prominent—both on the street by way of red tights and on the runway, where the opening look at Prada featured a bright red swimming cap.
Below, in a dispatch from Europe, shop the best-dressed women at men’s fashion.
Triple the Texture
A classic take on cold-weather dressing, shearling coats are trending in street style looks this season. While an investment piece, this iteration from Halfboy is a perfect oversized silhouette in the timeless tan shade. Wear it with mid-wash jeans, like this pair from Saks Potts. Minnetonka moccasins are also rising in the ranks this season as a must-have spring style, and this classic driving shoe version fits the bill. Complete the look with an oversized, woven Bottega Veneta bag.
Going Green
Embrace a neutral palette this season with olive, moss, and army shades of green. This Proenza Schouler double-breasted twill blazer is a trending piece that can also be worn for seasons to come. Pair it with Favorite Daughter’s pinstripe pleated pants for a hint of texture. Emme Parsons’ chocolate suede loafers go well with the all-green palette, and for that pop of red, try a fabric floral brooch like this one from Saint Laurent.
All Buttoned Up
A toggle coat is a timeless winter look, and Prada’s latest single-breasted, hooded style gets the job done. Add layers to the outfit with a pleated skirt, such as 16Arlington’s charcoal and brown plaid midi. Along with toggles and pleats, a third classic piece for this particular look is a pair of riding boots, such as this pair from Jil Sander. Top off the look with the final staple ingredient, a black quilted crossbody like Saint Laurent’s.
A Masterclass in Layering
Give knitwear a twist with Joseph’s olive jumper, layered underneath a navy blazer you’ll wear time and time again—the Ule oversized canvas jacket from The Row. A pair of wide-leg charcoal trousers, like this one from Cos, completes the neutral palette effortlessly. And finally, Everlane’s fan-favorite Day Heel in bone gives this outfit a breath of fresh air by way of a little winter white.
Off-Duty Ease
It wouldn’t be a best-dressed street style list without a classic off-duty look. Another shearling number, let Sandro’s oversized coat with leather trim be the main event of this particular outfit. Wear it with Citizens of Humanity’s barrel-leg jean (a divisive bestseller) and a pair of G. H. Bass’ tried-and-true two-tone loafers. Complete the look with a pair of Ray Ban Wayfarers, and you’re ready to go.
Seeing Red
Here you have it—the season’s quintessential red tights look, worn perfectly with a pair of red pointed-toe shoes and a black wool coat. Make the look your own with a pair of Calzedonia’s tights, worn with The Reformation’s red kitten mules. Finally, Loulou Studio’s double-breasted black coat layered over Anine Bing’s black ribbed sweater makes this outfit whole.
Streetwear Studs
Last, but certainly not least, is a streetwear icon: A standout piece of outerwear. This studded leather jacket is a tale as old as time when it comes to fashion week’s best-dressed list. Khaite’s iteration, the Rizzo textured studded leather jacket, achieves the look. Wear it with a pair of dark rinse jeanss, like this pair from J.Crew. Manu Atelier’s boots give this look structure thanks to a square-toe detail, while Mejuri’s silver earrings are the finishing detail.
