Melania Trump arrived in Saudi Arabia with her husband earlier today, interpreting the modest dress code of the Islamic nation in her own way with a black Stella McCartney jumpsuit. Trump has worn a similar covered-up, seventies-inspired silhouette in the past: She donned a Ralph Lauren Collection pussybow-topped version to the final debate on the campaign trail. Indeed jumpsuits are fast becoming a running theme in the First Lady’s closet: She wore another one by the American designer on election night.
This time around, her stretch cady jumpsuit had disco-era details, including a wide-leg silhouette, keyhole cut-out at the bust, and cuffed sleeves. While the all-black look was demure overall, the most eye-catching feature—an ’80s-inspired oversize gold python belt from Saint Laurent—had all the flashy Trump hallmarks and that OTT aesthetic was only amplified with the addition of a chunky, chain-link necklace.
