Not even the London rain could stop FKA Twigs from wearing chainmail to the British Fashion Awards. The singer attended the event at the Royal Albert Hall on Monday night in a shimmering, sheer Valentino dress filled with cutouts. Talk about commitment to fashion!
Twigs wore a silver, halter neck chainmail dress which, in addition to the many holes, featured a plunging neckline, ab-baring cutout, and an open back held together only by a thin strap. The hem of her dress was lined with little silver knots, the ends of her chain linked dress tied off to look like baubles.
She leaned into the shiny look, accessorizing with a pair of ultra-high silver rhinestone covered platform pumps, and long silver earrings—both from Valentino. The rest of her jewelry was from Shaun Leane, including a bracelet, sculptural rings, and—most notably—a nose ring that resembled a vine winding up the bridge of her face.
Twigs’s look was reminiscent of Zoë Kravitz’s 2021 Met Gala outfit, a beaded Saint Laurent chainmail dress which she wore over a beaded bra and panties set. Twigs, however, opted for lining on top and a nude miniskirt attached underneath her dress. Like Kravitz, FKA Twigs has made an excellent entry into the naked dress hall of fame.
