The New York collections have wrapped for the season, and what a week it was. Kicking off on February 12 with a star-studded show from Kanye West for Adidas, the fashion flock was treated to Beyoncé, Rihanna, andMrs. West seated in the front row. The only thing bolder than those names was the fashion. This season saw an influx of high-wattage coats including Beyoncé’s color-blocked version, Kim’s camouflage parka, and Rihanna’s off-the-shoulder situation. But it wasn’t just at **Yeezy’**s show that the peacocks let their feathers fly. Nicki Minaj stood out from the pack in her Thom Browne feathered frock coat, Mary J. Blige stunned in chinchilla with a coordinating python tote, and Rita Ora focused on a seventies aesthetic in a fringed, rust fur from Hilfiger collection. Acting as a subdued counterpoint were Jenna Lyons in an all cream ensemble punctuated by Altuzarra’s take on the classic Patagonia fleece, Victoria Beckham in a sleeveless coat from her own collection, and Caroline Issa cutting a cool figure in a cocooning Tod’s duster. But leave it to January’s cover girl Sienna Miller to keep things ultramodern, sleek, and minimal in Calvin Klein Collection. If New York’s showgoers are any indication of the cities ahead, then we might need to take our gaze to the front row and the runway major fashion moments.
