Here at Vogue, we’re all getting into the holiday spirit, and what better way to celebrate than with a seasonal treat? While we all have fond memories of decorating gingerbread men and houses growing up, we decided to make the classic cookie a little more…chic. So we tasked Toronto-based baker Lindsey Gazel to dream up some of fashion’s most iconic figures in gingerbread form.
Gazel, who owns Lindsey Bakes, had her work—and her cookies—cut out for her. While she’s used to decorating hundreds of cookies at a time, Gazel decorated cookies of six trailblazers in an expert 20 minutes apiece. But the baker lived up to the task, bringing industry figures to life. Read a bit about what makes each of our fashion confections so special below.

With her signature sunglasses and bob, we think that Gazel was spot-on. A nod to 2023’s Met Gala, Gazel whipped up this fabulous Chanel tweed suit of icing and sprinkles.

The Italian designer—who began working at her family’s namesake brand Prada in the mid-’70s and launched its little sister label Miu Miu in the ’90s—still controls the zeitgeist all these years later. Who else could have kickstarted this year’s most controversial trend, pantlesness?
Pharrell Williams is one of those people who seems to be good at everything. (He even makes a great gingerbread cookie.) This year, the Grammy winner took the reins of Louis Vuitton menswear, filling the role left vacant by the late Virgil Abloh. His first collection at Paris Fashion Week was a true spectacle, drawing out A-listers including Jay-Z and Beyoncé.
Donatella Versace helped ignite the supermodel phenomenon that gripped the ’90s and early 2000s, and this year she helped revive that cultural interest by sending Claudia Schiffer down Versace’s spring 2024 runway. An honoree of both the CFDA and the British Fashion Council, she can now add being immortalized as a chic gingerbread cookie to her long list of accolades.
The newly minted CFDA president is instantly recognized in cookie form thanks to his staple striped socks. Browne has been an omnipresent cultural figure over the last several years, dressing a host of hot young stars. One notable pop-culture mention came in the season two finale of The Bear, a presumed nod to star Ayo Edebiri’s fondness for the brand.
“I think the most challenging was trying to make Rick Owens,” Gazel reports, citing the shape and proportions of his clothing. We’d struggle too if we were tasked with trying to ice the lucite heels of his staple Kiss boots. But even in cookie form, we could spot him anywhere.
