Gosha Rubchinskiy, the Russian fashion wunderkind backed by Comme des Garçons, has descended upon Florence, bringing with him a cast of collaborators and cool kids. The designer, visiting for Pitti Uomo, staged his Spring 2017 menswear show in a former tobacco factory—also the setting of his 17-minute silent film that accompanies the collection. But what of the clothes? Vogue Runway s men s critic Alexander Fury will weigh in on those in his upcoming review—until then, get the lowdown on the events that went down at Rubchinskiy s Pitti Uomo debut here.1. The morning of the show, Rubchinskiy was part of a press conference with his collaborators stylist Lotta Volkova, director Renata Litvinova, and artist Valentin Fufaev. They made a pretty well-dressed quartet, too, with Rubchinskiy and Fuaev in matching camouflage prints.[#image: /photos/58913bc197a3db337a24907b]||||||

2. The show was staged en plein air in the circular courtyard of an abandoned tobacco factory. Guests sat on risers outside while models paraded around the center. [#image: /photos/58913bc1736d5f2410e3743e]||||||

3. The most popular pieces—according to Instagram, at least—will be Rubchinskiy s riffs on Fila s logo, which appeared on everything from sweatshirts right down to the socks worn by models.[#image: /photos/58913bc28c64075803aced0c]||||||

4. Kappa, the Italian soccer brand, was also represented in the collection with its signature logo—the silhouette of a back-to-back man and woman—appearing on track pants and tees. [#image: /photos/58913bc397a3db337a24907f]||||||

5. In addition to the many brand logos that appeared in the collection, there was also a series of yin-yangs that were emblazoned across a sweatshirt. Consider it hippie-dippie for hypebeasts. [#image: /photos/58913bc4b482c0ea0e4d6e67]||||||

6. Rubchinskiy also unveiled a collaboration with Levi’s on the brand s Type III Trucker jacket and 505 jeans. [#image: /photos/58913bc5fb0604bf1f5c1b41]||||||

9. For her part, Volkova was spotted backstage wearing a tee that read: “Vodka, Connecting People.” A good omen for the after-party tonight, for sure. [#image: /photos/58913bc6f88f7c2037364a2b]||||||
